Is it because of summer? Those hot days approaching, the promise of a salty sea? This week I pulled out my Diana camera photos of water in its many moods.
These photos are shot on eastern Long Island, about a two hour drive east of New York City. This is the beach at Amagansett at dusk.
Here’s the same beach on a sunny morning after a hurricane passed by offshore the night before.
The surfers in Montauk are patiently waiting for a wave.
Now we’re on Gardiners Bay, which lies between the two peninsulas at the eastern end of Long Island. The tide is rising…
…and the wind is picking up.
This year we agreed: we’re getting back in the canoe! Because what’s sweeter than a lazy Sunday morning paddle when the wind is light and the sun is warming the back of your neck?
